Unlike conventional massage, Lucien's Myofascial Release focuses on the body's long-standing patterns of resistance and compensation stored in connective tissue layers known as fasciae. Even when deeply relaxed, our body still holds a set of imprinted limitations which are the basis for pain and restriction in both physical and emotional expression.
Lucien's myofascial work releases restrictions within these fascial layers in a gentle way in order to relax, lengthen, and release holding patterns. Patients feel increased relaxation, alleviation of pain, and longer lasting benefits. He identifies pathways of communication for the body’s movements and expression and facilitates openness, flexibility and release into areas of long-forgotten resistance.
Each session of Myofascial Release is strategically tailored for the particular concerns of each patient. In general, a session is not only focused in releasing the area of the body where relief is needed but also in releasing all its structural components. For example, a patient with neck and shoulder restrictions could benefit tremendously by releasing the front of the torso, the lower back, and the feet. Some of the most common complains that are addressed are neck, shoulders and low back restrictions and pain. Other common conditions that can be addressed effectively are Sciatica, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Tennis Elbow, Golfer's Elbow, and Plantar Fasciatis. Athletes, dancers, students of Yoga and meditation, musicians, business people, martial artists, people riddled with chronic pain and stress from all walks of life, get Lucien' Myofascial Release not only for relief from their pain and stress, but also for improved performance in their professions and daily activities.
Lucien's hands-on therapy can be applied to restrictions within the musculoskeletal, organ, and nervous systems. Hands-on applications in these regions are traditionally known within Osteopathy as Parietal, and Visceral respectively. The Parietal or superficial applications focus on restrictions around muscles, tendons, and ligaments. The Visceral or deeper applications focus on restrictions around the organs.
